Donate to Megaphone and Hope in Shadows to help us better support our 175 vendors during COVID-19

Megaphone and our 175 vendors are facing a period of uncertainty. 

With the repercussions of the COVID-19 outbreak, our estimated loss in revenue is $30,000. Megaphone staff, while working remotely, are staying in touch with our vendors on a daily basis. But we need your support to keep the Megaphone community strong while in-person operations are on hiatus.

Megaphone supporters: you can help us provide another income opportunity for our vendors during this difficult time… showing them you care, and you can have a little fun doing it!

Until May 31, in recognition of your donation to Megaphone’s emergency fund and in honour of the beautiful Japanese cherry blossoms that promise renewal each spring, Megaphone vendors and staff will write a personalized haiku just for YOU.

Receiving your personalized poem is simple. You give us the donation and inspiration, we provide the haiku. 

• Give $50, and a Megaphone staff member will write you a haiku inspired by a topic of your choice;
• Give $70, and a Megaphone staff member you pick will write you a haiku inspired by a topic of your choice;
• Give $100, and a Megaphone vendor will write you a haiku inspired by a topic of your choice, with partial proceeds going to the vendor writing your haiku;
• Give $200+, and a Megaphone vendor will write you a haiku inspired by a topic of your choice, OR you can give them free rein to write their own creative haiku, with partial proceeds going to the vendor. You will receive the signed copy of your haiku via snail mail marked with a special seal.

Rest assured, our talented and experienced haiku team members — one of us has even been to Japan! — can write about just about any topic... from your significant other’s dreamy eyes, to your loyal pet, to your favourite things.
