Stand Up for Storytelling with Jules

There are so many things we cannot do during this pandemic. But we can still tell our stories. And Megaphone is making that even more accessible for marginalized voices with our new Community Journalism Mentorship pilot program!

Join Jules in Standing Up for Storytelling by making a donation today to Megaphone and help us continue to keep our peer storytelling programs going strong!

Jules is Standing Up for Storytelling this spring as one of the first peers to take part in our new Community Journalism Mentorship pilot program and for the next six months, she will shadow professional journalists and work on assignment for Megaphone magazine. Her first assignment is out now in the May issue!

Jules is a powerful storyteller. She is a Megaphone vendor, published writer and photographer and Speakers Bureau speaker.

Jules writes, speaks, and takes photos that challenge stigma with a trauma-informed perspective, enriched by her lived experiences and connection to the community. She volunteers with many organizations (Sex Workers United Against Violence, BC Association for People on Methodone and BC Centre for Drug Use).

Most recently, Jules has been the friendly face greeting us at the front desk of 312 Main, where Megaphone and other community service providers’ share office space.

You can join Jules in Standing Up for Storytelling by making a donation today to Megaphone and help us continue to keep our peer storytelling programs going strong.
